Compensation

This position is volunteer-based. In other words, this position is not stipend-based and is completely at-will. All funds currently go to paying interns a modest end-of-program stipend. Thank you for your understanding and support of our mission.

About the Role

As the Social Media Coordinator & Strategist at Rita Group, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Rita shows up online. You’ll manage the day-to-day execution of content across platforms while also contributing to the long-term social media strategy that aligns with our mission and goals.

This role is hands-on; you’ll be managing our content calendar, scheduling posts, engaging with audiences, tracking metrics, and collaborating with design and marketing teammates to ensure our presence feels both consistent and fresh. It’s also strategic; you’ll analyze performance, identify trends, and recommend new approaches that help us grow our reach and impact.

Responsibilites

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Manage and maintain a posting calendar to ensure consistent execution across platforms.
  • Create, schedule, and oversee day-to-day posting of content.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, DMs, and community interactions in a timely, thoughtful way.
  • Keep the social media workflow organized, ensuring campaigns and posts run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Analyze platform metrics and audience insights, producing reports that guide strategy and improve performance.
  • Stay on top of trends and propose new approaches that best fit Rita’s brand and audience.
  • Collaborate closely with design and marketing teams on visuals, campaigns, and promotions.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in social media coordination, strategy, or content management.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple platforms and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, etc.) and scheduling tools.
  • Strong copywriting and communication skills, with an eye for tone and engagement.
  • Ability to interpret metrics and audience insights, and translate them into actionable strategy.
  • A collaborative, reliable team player who can execute a vision while keeping everything on track.
  • Passion for mission-driven initiatives and using social media to foster diversity, creativity, and inclusion.
